Experience

My introduction to journalism started at my high school newspaper and news website. I quickly fell in love with the newsroom and how it gave me a space where I developed my skills of writing, design, and leadership. As an Editor-in-Chief for two consecutive years I learned that I could turn my passions into a career, which led me to take on internships at professional publications. Throughout the years my love for journalism has only grown and solidified my future aspirations.

Internships

Detroit Free Press

During my four week apprenticeship at the Detroit Free Press I had the opportunity to write two news stories. I vastly improved my research and interview skills.

Published work:

Local Pour Magazine

While interning at the Local Pour Magazine I wrote the reoccurring Raise a Glass feature story that highlights a charity event at a local brewery, which furthered my writing techniques.

Published work:

Macomb Now Magazine

The Macomb Now Magazine was my first journalistic internship, which showed me the inner-workings of a professional publication. I worked on their re-occuring calendar spread by compiling local county events for their fall edition.
